COSTS

We quote for each tour individually, and the exact cost is affected by the specific requirements for your tour. My rates of hire for 2006 range from £30.00 per hour (for local touring) to £340.00 per day for tours throughout the United Kingdom and to the Continent. These rates are fully inclusive of the following and will remain in effect throughout 2006, although, Tours of the Realm reserves the right to increase them:-

  • my fees as your private driver and guide for the duration of your trip;
  • all my accommodation and meal expenses if applicable;
  • all the administration costs associated with booking of hotels, fishing venues etc and the creation and preparation of personal itineraries;
  • transportation for up to 6 passengers (whilst licenced for 6, I recommend a maximum of 4 adults, for your greatest comfort, as the rear seat is a bench seat, but am happy to take 6 if there are small children );
  • motor insurance and fuel charges;
  • unlimited mileage, car parking (except London) and bridge tolls;
  • all soft drinks in the car;
  • use of the luggage trailer, if required:

but are exclusive of:

  • your accommodation and meal expenses, so as to allow you the freedom to choose the type of accommodation that best suits your requirements and budget;
  • entrance into attractions and places of interest, again to offer you the greatest degree of flexibility;
  • Le Shuttle and Eurostar or P&O, Hoverspeed or Seafrance cross-Channel ferry fares; continental European motorway, river ferry and bridge tolls if applicable;
  • Caledonian MacBrayne or Irish Sea/P&O ferry fares between the Scottish Islands and between UK and Ireland if applicable;
  • car parking, if touring in London - £25.00 per day;
  • International Green Card insurance and 5* breakdown, recovery and repatriation service, if applicable;
  • theatre tickets, booking charges and Great British Heritage passes, fishing permits, green fees and day tickets;
  • use of the mobile phone (which is billed at £1.00 per call and as charged by the supplier thereafter);
  • London Congestion charge of £8.00 per day, if applicable.

THE VEHICLE

I have just purchased a new vehicle a Chrysler Grand Voyager which, if you are unfamiliar with the vehicle, is fully air-conditioned; offers plenty of space and legroom for guests; it has a luxurious leather interior; great visibility, particularly over our lovely hedgerows, but isn't so large that one cannot venture through our pretty lanes and tiny backroads, which normal tour buses are unable to negotiate. 

BAGGAGE

Please note that for your greatest comfort, I have had to restrict the number of passengers to 4 adults or a family of 6, if traveling with children, and the number of bags that can be accommodated to 6 large suitcases and 6 small carryon bags as well as purses and coats.

RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT

Bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis (the courtesy of first refusal being offered in the event that a second enquiry is received) and 10% of the full tour price must be paid at the time of booking to secure my services. The full balance of the tour, plus any additional expenses, hotel accommodation, fishing permits, green fees, Great British Heritage passes etc will then be due 60 days prior to the start of the tour - or alternatively payment may be made by monthly  installments.  I accept Visa, MasterCard or Switch/Maestro, otherwise payment may be made either by automatic bank transfer or by Sterling cheque drawn on a British Bank account. Once the payment has been charged I will send you an e-mail confirming your reservation by return, and will post your invoice and credit card receipt to you for your records.  I very much regret that due to a few "no-shows" in th e past 13 years, when I have driven over 4 hours and back to collect passengers, I have had to implement the above policy, but trust that my cancellation terms are sufficiently flexible and acceptable to you.
